FAQ

What should I wear to class?

Wear comfortable clothing which allows for unrestricted movement, such as leggings, tracksuit bottoms or shorts, and a close fitting vest or t-shirt. Not too loose fitting, as I need to see the alignment of your body as you move. When choosing your appropriate attire, keep in mind that some positions can be a bit revealing, as Joseph Pilates demonstrates.

What should I bring to class?

Just bring yourself. Mats are provided as well as small equipment such as balls, bands, weights and foam rollers, to challenge and support you.

What if I have an injury or medical condition?

If you have an injury or medical condition (including pregnancy or postnatal), please make sure to provide details in your enrolment form and speak to me before joining a class.

Can I eat beforehand?

Allow two hours to digest a meal. A small snack before class is fine, but make sure it is something really light and nutritious, like fruit or a handful of nuts.

How long will it take to see ‘results’?

Each individual is different, but you should see a change in how you move and feel after only a few sessions. The more Pilates you do, the quicker you will see results. I recommend practising a few times a week, whether you attend more than one class or just practice at home (I give homework!). Joseph Pilates said:

“In 10 sessions, you feel better, 20 sessions you look better, 30 sessions you have a completely new body.”
